Electroplating is the use of electrolytic principle in some metal surface plating on a thin layer of other metal or alloy process, is the use of electrolytic effect of metal or other materials on the surface attached to a layer of metal film process so as to prevent metal oxidation (such as corrosion), improve wear resistance, electrical conductivity, reflective, corrosion resistance (copper sulfate, etc.) and improve the appearance of the role.

Electroplating is divided into copper plating, gold plating, silver plating, chromium plating, nickel plating and zinc plating and other specific processes, especially in the field of manufacturing galvanized, nickel plating and chromium plating is the most widely used.

Galvanizing

Definition: Galvanized refers to the surface of metal, alloy or other materials coated with a layer of zinc to play the role of beautiful, rust prevention and other surface treatment technology.

Features: Low cost, corrosion resistance, silver color.

Applications: screws, circuit breakers, industrial supplies, etc.

Nickel plating

Definition: Electrolysis or chemical plating of a layer of nickel on a metal or certain nonmetals is called nickel plating.

Features: beautiful, can do decoration, high price, slightly complex technology, color for silver yellow.

Applications: energy saving lamp holder, coin, hardware, etc.

Chrome plating

Definition: Chromium is a bright white metal with a slight bluish tint. It is electrochemically or chemically coated with a layer of chromium on a metal or some non-metals.

Features: There are two kinds of chrome plating, the first is to play a decorative role, bright appearance, good friction resistance, rust resistance is not as good as galvanized, better than oxidation; The second is to increase the hardness and wear resistance of metal parts, which is the function of parts.

Application: bright decorative parts, tools, faucets, etc. on household appliances, electronics and other products.

Difference

1: "Chrome plating is mainly to improve the surface hardness, beautiful, rust prevention. Chromium coatings have good chemical stability and do not react in bases, sulfides, nitric acids and most organic acids, but are soluble in halogenic acids (such as hydrochloric acid) and hot sulfuric acid. Because chromium does not change color, when used can maintain its reflection ability for a long time than silver and nickel. The process is usually electroplating.

2: Nickel plating is mainly wear-resistant, anti-corrosion, anti-rust, generally thin thickness, if the process is divided into electroplating and chemical two categories.

3: Galvanized is mainly beautiful rust prevention. zn is a reactive metal that reacts with acids, making it less resistant to corrosion and the cheapest of the three.

Chromium plating is the most expensive, nickel next, zinc the cheapest, which also have to distinguish between hanging plating, rolling plating, etc. Hanging plating is expensive, rolling plating is cheap
