Mechanical properties:

The tensile strength of HastelloyB alloy can reach or exceed 690 RmN/mm2.

The yield strength of the alloy RP0.2N/mm2 is above 310.

The elongation of HastelloyB alloy A5% can reach more than 40.


Functional features:

The alloy is able to control the minimum content of iron and chromium elements, thereby preventing the formation of β-phase Ni4Mo.

It has excellent corrosion resistance to reducing environments.

It is very resistant to the corrosion of medium concentration sulfuric acid and many non-oxidizing acids.

It has good resistance to chloride ion reduction stress corrosion cracking (SCC).

It has strong resistance to various organic acid corrosion.


Metallographic structure:

HastelloyB alloy has a face-centered cubic lattice structure. By controlling the content of iron and chromium to a minimum, the processing brittleness is reduced, and the precipitation of Ni4Mo phase is prevented at 700-870℃.


Corrosion resistance:

HastelloyB alloy has a very low carbon and silicon content, which reduces the precipitation of carbon and other impurity phases in the welding heat affected zone, so the weld also has sufficient corrosion resistance. HastelloyB-2 alloys have excellent corrosion resistance in reducing media, such as hydrochloric acid solutions at various temperatures and concentrations. In a medium concentration of sulfuric acid solution (or containing a certain amount of chloride ions) also has good corrosion resistance. It can also be used in acetic and phosphoric acid environments. Alloy materials have the best corrosion resistance only when they are in a suitable metallographic state and a pure crystal structure.

HastelloyB alloys are widely used in chemical, petrochemical, energy manufacturing and pollution control fields, especially in sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid and other industries.
